Cinnamon Date Cake
125g Soft Margarine // 125g Soft Light Brown Sugar // 1 Egg, beaten // 225g Self Raising Flour, sieved // 1/2tsp Ground Cinnamon // 1/4tsp Grated Nutmeg // 75ml Milk // 125g Whitworths Chopped Dates //

Preheat the oven to 180°C (Fan 160°C), Gas Mark 4
Grease & line a 18cm (7") round cake tin.

Cream the margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually add the beaten egg. Fold in the sieved flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and finally the milk and dates. Mix thoroughly.
Spoon into the prepared tin and bake for 60-75 minutes.
Allow to cool slightly before removing from the tin.
